RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate will be responsible for pre-sales technical support for Comapny's consumer optics and imaging customers located in Japan. He or she will report to the President Comapny Japan located in the Tokyo sales office.
Working closely with the sales and product team, the candidate will lead the technical due diligence with potential customers for Comapny's wafer scale optics and packaging, smart optics, and image processing software products and technologies. Activities include providing product demonstrations and technology presentations, defining and participating in technical evaluations, and serving as a technical liaison between the customer and the product engineering team.
The candidate will work with the major OEM/ODMs for high volume consumer optics applications (digital cameras, cell phones, notebooks) and its associated supply chain partners (camera module, lens, and semiconductor manufacturers). Customers include: Nikon, NEC, Casio, Sanyo, Sony, Olympus, Kyocera, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Sharp, Toshiba, Konica Minolta, Canon, Fujifilm, Pentax and others.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must have at least 7 years of technical sales or applications experience with the customers listed above, preferably in the area of image processing or imaging software. He or she must have a track record of successful customer interactions in a technical role. Exposure to the optics industry or optics knowledge is a big plus. He or she must possess a technical degree as well as communicate effectively, both orally and written, in English and Japanese.
He or she must possess a self starter personality, able to work independently towards agreed to objectives, but also be able to work within a team oriented company culture. Some travel is expected, in addition to supporting customers in Japan, several trips per year may be required to Israel, Ireland, and the United States for technical training and product updates.
